• A firm base, 75mm to 100mm of sand or a concrete slab must be provided. A sand base should extend at least 500mm past the side of the water tank with an edging.
• If a tank stand is being used, decking should be no more than 50mm apart.
• Support the pipe work off the stand, never support the pipe off the tank.
• A flexible pipe of approximately 300mm should be installed after the valve to absorb all shock or movement.
• Overflows should be piped well away from the tank to avoid undermining the base.
